Ballycastle Utd travelled to Garvagh in the Constitution Cup on Saturday and with both sides showing recent good form this game had all the ingredients to be a great cup tie.
The visitors started the game very well and immediately took the game to Garvagh and went close through Saul Mc Caughan and Daniel Laverty.
After this, Garvagh began to grow into the game and had a couple of half chances but nothing to trouble Ballycastle's Stephen McIlroy.
The first half ended with the best chance of the game falling to Tiarnan Butler but he couldn't direct his header on target.
The second half kicked off and both teams started well with Garvagh gaining in confidence and enjoying the best of the play in the opening 15 minutes.
And it was the Garvagh men who took the lead on 65 minutes from the penalty spot and a very well placed spot kick.
Alan Workman was brought down inside the penalty area, got up, dusted himself down and despatched the penalty to give his side the lead.
Their advantage only lasted 10 minutes, however, as Ballycastle seemed to find another gear in the last 30 minutes and a cool finish from the in-form Saul McCaughan levelled the game for Ballycastle on 75 minutes.
