Adams nominated for UK driver award thumbnailSam Adamsís first full season in rallying resulted with the teenager winning an Irish title.

MOSSIDE schoolboy Sam Adams is in the running to be crowned UK Young Rally Driver of the Year at next month's Professional MotorSport World Expo event in Germany.
Adams secured a nomination for the prestigious award by virtue of the fact he triumphed in this season's Junior 1000 Rally Challenge Ireland - on his very first attempt.
The Skoda Citigo driver has enjoyed a remarkable campaign, returning maximum scores on all but one of the rallies he has entered alongside team-mate Andrew Bushe.
He is one of eleven drivers shortlisted by organisers of the annual competition, with an independent panel of judges having the hard task of whittling this down to four.
Others drivers to be nominated include 2017 Junior 1000 Scottish Challenge winner Ewan Tindall, who also wrapped up the English Championship with a round to spare.
“News of the award has come as something of a surprise," sixteen-year-old Adams told Chronicle Sport, "but of course I am absolutely thrilled to be considered for it.
“It has been a season where all expectations have been exceeded so it's nice when someone recognises the fact you have done so well. I honestly never expected this.
