Weather disrupts league games thumbnailFlo McNally, Chairman of the IIBA, presents the Champion of Champions Trophy to Nigel Gamble, Loughanreagh. Looking on are Nigel McMullan and Edwin Irwin

THERE were only two matches played this week in the North West Indoor Bowling League.
Some teams were anxious about travelling to matches last Monday owing to storm warnings but as it turned out Ophelia was more of a damp squib than a hurricane. Teams are reminded that the postponed games must be played within 21 days.
Boveedy entertained Garvagh and District and went home with six points. D Workman, however, put Garvagh District onto the scoreboard first when he beat Doughie Morrow (Boveedy) by five shots.
Andrew Wallace levelled things up by beating Kenneth McLenaghan (Garvagh/Dist.). Boveedy showed their superiority in the second half with Harry Robb and Ashley McCahon beating Geoffery Boyce and John Moody (Garvagh/Dist.) respectively.
First Coleraine walked over the road to take on New Row. Perhaps it would have been better had they stayed at home for New Row took six points off them.
Having said that New Row won the overall score by just two shots.
Pauline Curry (New Row) beat Bryan Shaw (1st. Coleraine) thirteen shots to twelve with Shaw fighting back from an early scare.
Freddie Monahan (New Row) in a very closely fought game beat Clifford McLernon (1st. Coleraine) nine shots to eight.
