Bannsiders dig deep to earn a valuable point thumbnailColeraine forward Jamie McGonigle was a constant threat during the second half of Saturday’s draw at the Oval

IT says a lot I suppose when Glentoran 'keeper Elliott Morris is listed in the 'Team of the Week' in a Sunday newspaper.
The Glens' stopper was much the busier of the two keepers on an afternoon when the Bannsiders played for 70 minutes with ten men following Josh Carson's early red card for a challenge on Marcus Kane.
If the first half of this contest was forgettable, save for the sending-off, then the second 45 minutes was in complete contrast with both sides attacking and counter-attacking in an entertaining encounter.
Morris had to be at his best on a number of occasions to deny Jamie McGonigle and produced a wonderful diving save to tip over an Ian Parkhill drive which seemed destined for the top corner of the net.
And on the occasions he was beaten, a combination of the woodwork and some alert defending from full-back Nathan Kerr - who headed Eoin Bradley's curling effort off the line - prevented a vital away goal.
At the other end, Chris Johns was proving his worth too with a number of timely interventions.
