‘Causeway Coast Sportive will be best yet’ thumbnailThe road that skirts Torr Head will form the 115 mile ‘Giant Killer’ route cyclists will tackle this weekend as part of the Giant’s Causeway Coast Sportive

MORE than 1,500 cyclists will take part in this weekend's Giant's Causeway Coast Sportive, with organisers confident of cementing its reputation as the best event of its kind in Northern Ireland.
Starting and ending in Ballycastle on Saturday afternoon, three separate routes have been drawn up for riders of all abilities, with these largely based in the north coast and Glens of Antrim areas.
The event - which is promoted by Outdoor Recreation NI in association Chain Reaction Cycles - is now in its seventh year and is said to have contributed thousands of pounds to the local economy.
Last year, businesses operating across north Antrim benefited to the tune of almost £220,000 - and that sum is set to rise to nearly £250,000 this time around, according to Beverley Magowan.
“It is great to see the Sportive going from strength to strength," she said.
