Kearney ready for tough season opener thumbnailColeraine’s Josh Carson celebrates scoring the opening goal in the Charity Shield

WITH the new Danske Bank Premiership less than a week away Coleraine manager Oran Kearney says he is looking forward to getting the season up-and-running.
An impressive third place finish in the league, and an appearance in the Irish Cup final, was the highlight of last season's campaign, but Kearney insists last season's heroics are now in the past.
“From the minute the final whistle sounded in the second European game I said to all the players afterwards, 'That is closure on the buzz of last season, the Cup Final, Europe and everything else we achieved. Now we wipe the slate clean and go again'. For me, as much as we will reflect on last season from time to time, it's very much in the history books.
“People will possibly be more wary of us now and hit us harder or whatever because of the season that we had, so it's important that we raise our game in order to be ready for that."
