Cycling sportif raises funds for local charities thumbnailThe longer 60-mile route took cyclists through the Dark Hedges

BANN Wheelers Cycling Club held their annual charity sportif - the Causeway Cycle Challenge - recently, with hundreds taking part.
The two routes available were 40-miles and 65-miles with the latter taking in the spectacular Dark Hedges outside Armoy village.
The two routes split in Dervock with the 40-mile route turning left and heading towards Bushmills before heading back in along the coast. The 65-mile route went straight on through Dervock heading to the Dark Hedges, followed by Armoy and down the Glen to Ballycastle. It then proceeded along the coast road before joining up with the 40-mile route in Bushmills. Both routes then turned at York Corner to avoid Portstewart Promemade and headed back to Coleraine Rugby Club.
