McBride leads Ballycastle to regional Feile title thumbnail

BALLYCASTLE Under 14's made up for their Antrim Feile heartbreak when they stormed through the regional Feile, hosted by Trim GAC in County Navan, as convincing champions.
Having played a total of five games over two-and-a-half hours of hard fought camogie in 26 degree heat, the girls amassed a total of 29.27 whilst only conceding 4.5 throughout the tournament.
Player of the tournament, Riana McBride, accounted for 15.22 of the scores and was superbly supplied by her team-mates including the on form Fionnuala Kelly and the industrious midfield duo Katie McCloskey.
The girls fended off opposition from Aghaderg, Navan O'Mahoney's and Birr from Offaly in the group stages and progress as group winners.
A tough semi-final against Laois Harps saw the girls turn around a five point half time deficit, as the Harp's girls netted three times to leave them ahead 3.2 to 1.3.
