Garry Jennings back up to speed thumbnailGarry Jennings says he is match fit for Donegal after his podium finish in Cavan

GARRY Jennings says he was left feeling encouraged with the pace he set on his return to the driver's seat on the recent Cavan Rally where he scored a top-three finish with team-mate, Rory Kennedy.
The Irish Tarmac champion from 2013 finished less than two seconds in front of Marty McCormack's Skoda Fabia R5, and half-a-minute shy of eventual winners Declan and Brian Boyle in a Ford Fiesta.
Jennings only made sure of the runner-up spot on the closing test after tying on identical times with McCormack after eight of the competition's nine stages. It was the first time Jennings drove his S12B Subaru Impreza World Rally Car since his popular Galway Rally victory at the beginning of the year.
“It was nice to be back in the car again after the rain, snow and ice of Galway," he said. "It took us a few miles to get back onto a competitive pace, to the level we were at before, but by the end of the rally we were setting some encouraging times. I was more than happy to leave there with second.
