Ulster rider says 2017 event ranks as the best yet thumbnailRecord breaker Alastair Seeley (above) won four races at the North West 200 to walk away with the Man of the Meeting trophy while Glenn Irwin (left) prevailed in a thrilling feature race

ULSTER rider Alastair Seeley capped off an unforgettable Vauxhall International North West 200 by clinching the prestigious Man of the Meeting trophy.
He recorded four race victories in three different classes to bump up his win count around the world famous nine-mile north coast circuit to twenty one.
The 'Wee Wizard' worked his magic in Thursday evening's sun-kissed Superstock race and picked up where he left off forty eight hours later by taking the chequered flag in Saturday's Supersport contest on Gearlink Kawasaki's ZX-6R and the Superstock and Superbike spoils on Tyco BMW's S1000RR.
Racing was delayed by three hours due to heavy rain and the presence of oil on the coast road but this failed to knock the thirty-seven-year-old off his stride. "The organisers made the right call and the spectators were treated to some fantastic racing," Seeley told Chronicle Sport. "To come away with four race wins in the same week is something pretty special. Every race win is hard-earned. They don't come on the back of Frosty packets. I'm happy.
