Charity rally set for 2019 return thumbnailRobert Woodside and Bruce Drummond won the inaugural Circuit of Ulster.

A TARGA Rally that raised thousands of pounds for the Northern Ireland Air Ambulance charity looks set to be staged biennially in Northern Ireland, according to the man who came up with the concept.
The Circuit of Ulster Targa Rally is on course for a return in 2019 after collecting 13,000 for the helicopter service - just under half of what Stephen McFerran, as Clerk of the Course, had targeted.
McFerran, who received help from ten leading motor clubs, intended the event to be a one-off, but given its success and popularity amongst competitors and spectators, admits a re-think was needed.
The competition comprised almost twenty timed tests, with half of these taking place at locations across the Causeway Coast and Glens area, including Limavady, Portrush, Waterfoot and Cushendall.
