Alan Carmichael seeks improvement at Bishopscourt
Thursday, 9 March 2017
ALAN Carmichael is hoping for a better outcome on the next round of the Northern Ireland Rally Championship before the competition moves away from track venues and on to closed public roads.
Carmichael finished sixth on the opening round at Kirkistown last month despite encountering some teething problems with the gear set-up on the Mini John Cooper Works World Rally Car he was using.
The Ballymoney businessman says he is targeting a podium result at Bishopscourt this Saturday - a circuit he has won at previously when he campaigned a Production Class Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9.
“I had some trouble at Kirkistown with the gear selector on the wheel and that cost me a lot of time and if you lose that at the start of the day on a circuit - which I did - you'll really struggle to claw it back," said Carmichael.
“Let's hope things go better and I can make up places on the next round.
