Dunlops set for charity match appearance
Thursday, 29 December 2016
THE Dunlop brothers, William and Michael, are among those confirmed for a charity football match that will see the quickest road racers go up against their short circuit counterparts.
The game will be staged at Seaview - the home of Crusaders F.C - late next month, with all money raised going to the Children's Cancer Unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
It has been organised by Ballymoney's Gary Dunlop, son of the late Joey who made his Irish road racing debut this year, with help from current Irish Superbike champion Nikki Coates.
Other riders confirmed for the exhibition match include the North West 200's most successful rider, Alastair Seeley and British Supersport regular Andrew Irwin. The game is due to take place on Sunday January 29 with admission costing £5 per person. So far the response has been very good, according to Dunlop, who says he is a big fan of the beautiful game.
