Mickey Harte to present Moyle Sports Awards 2008 thumbnailTyrone’s victorious All Ireland winning Manager Mickey Harte is the Guest Speaker for the 14th Moyle Sports Advisory Annual Awards Dinner 2008 which takes place on Friday 28th November 2008 in the Marine Hotel Ballycastle.

THE 14th Moyle Sports Advisory Annual Awards Dinner 2008 takes place on Friday 28th November 2008, 7.00 for 7.30pm in the Marine Hotel Ballycastle.
The Awards are a celebration and recognise the achievements of the many talented sports people within the Moyle area. The event continues to grow in stature and the nominee's included representatives from a variety of Sports.
Last year the committee decided to change from their recent trend and secure the services of a sports personality. This we feel has further raised the profile of the event and will encourage sponsors to support the Awards evening. The entertainment for the evening includes our guest speaker and a local comedian who has come very highly recommended. In this the 14th year of the event we are delighted to have secured the services of Tyrone's victorious All Ireland winning Manager Mickey Harte as our Guest Speaker for the evening. Mickey is a very articulate and recognised as an excellent motivational speaker.
Mickey took over the reigns as Tyrone Manager in 2003 and secured their first All Ireland title in the same year. In the 2008 All Ireland Final Mickey Harte and his Tyrone players once again proved their own greatness. Although it could be argued that the-team-of-the-decade debate won't be settled until next year, what is not in doubt is that Mickey Harte is the manager of the decade. Mickey has been one of the key reformers and architects of the modern style of Gaelic football. The Ballygawley man had a long and distinguished playing career and in more recent times has received numerous accolades for his tactical prowess as manager of his beloved Tyrone. Three All-Ireland titles in six seasons will ensure Mickey Harte's place in the pantheon of GAA managerial greatness and by all accounts the architect of Tyrone's All Ireland victories isn't finished just yet.
