All the fun of the fair! thumbnailCrowds, undaunted by the rain showers, flock to soak up the atmosphere at the Auld Lammas Fair in Ballycastle yesterday (Monday).

SCATTERED showers failed to dampen the spirits of thousands of revellers who flocked to Ballycastle yesterday (Monday) to soak up the atmosphere at reputedly Ireland's oldest traditional fair.
Families travelled for miles to attend the colourful tourist attraction and renew old friendships.
There was busking, bargaining, street entertainment and amusements with hundreds of stalls selling a variety of goods including the traditional Fair treats of dulse and Yellow Man.
Deals were struck and a carnival atmosphere prevailed at the major two-day event which has been staged in Ballycatle for three centuries, marking the end of summer and beginning of harvest.
