30 years of service for Cushendall Crew Commander thumbnailMalachy Jamison who has been a firefighter at Cushendall fire station for 30 years.

THE watch commander at Cushendall fire station is celebrating 30 years as a firefighter and admits he has no intention of hanging up his helmet just yet!
Malachy Jamison began his training two years before the current Cushendall station opened in 1990, starting on August 9 1988 in Carnlough.
Malachy told The Chronicle that the past 30 years have "passed in a blink" and have been filled with memories he'll never forget.
He said growing up he had always wanted to be a firefighter, but back then there had been very little opportunity.
