THE Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council claims the opening of a new leisure park in Ballycastle will help strengthen the north coast's position as a 'destination of choice.'
Cllr Brenda Chivers was speaking after officially opening the new 1.5m Atlantic View Leisure Park on Clare Road just outside the resort on Saturday morning.
The park, boasting 110 caravans and lodges, is the latest development from McNicholl Caravan Parks Group and represents a huge investment in the north Antrim area.
“It's a hugely exciting time for the tourism sector across the Causeway Coast and Glens as we recently recorded over one million overnight trips to the area for the very first time," said the mayor.
“We are welcoming more visitors than ever before who are making a huge contribution to our local economy.
