Supply appeal from local foodbank thumbnailNuala Donnelly, Nia McHale and Mairead Osborne during a Foodbank collection.

BALLYCASTLE foodbank is now stand-alone and covers the largest geographical area in the UK - their supplies are running low and they are appealing to members of the community to help if they can.
A number of years ago the Ballycastle Church Action Group, comprising members and the clergy of the three churches in the town, recognised the need to establish a Foodbank to support the local community at times of crisis.
In the first few years the Ballycastle Foodbank was a satellite unit of the Coleraine Vineyard, however earlier this year it was established as a stand-alone unit and is based in Dalriada House in the grounds of the hospital. The Ballycastle Foodbank serves the community from Bushmills, Ballycastle, the Glens as far as Garron Point, Armoy and Rathlin Island.
