Cushendall deserves better - Cllr McKillop thumbnailThe bin at Cushendall boat club overflowing with debris last Monday morning.

SDLP Councillor Margaret Anne McKillop has called on Causeway Coast and Glens Council to "embrace and demonstrate their commitment to health and safety and the environment" by ensuring toilets do not remain closed and there are adequate litter bins which are emptied regularly.
The Glens based Councillor was reacting to complaints that toilets in Cushendall beach remained locked last Sunday when a record number of people visited the area.
She said: "I do not want to see Cushendall treated as the poor relation or its people regarded as second class citizens and I know the Council will deny this but they need to demonstrate by their actions that the Glens are not outposts from the bigger resorts but indeed seen as "the jewel in the crown" of the Causeway Coast."
