TRIBUTES have flooded in for well known Cushendun man John McCaughan who passed away last week, leaving the close-knit rural community shocked and saddened.
News of the passing of the Robert Emmetts hurler has devastated John's family, friends and team-mates, who were among the first to pay heartfelt tribute to the 38-year-old.
Lifelong friend, team-mate and work colleague, Dominic Magee described him as a legend while others recounted his glory days on the hurling fields of Antrim, London and New York.
John's uncle, Chris McCaughan, said his nephew ate, slept and breathed hurling adding that his death has "totally devastated" his mother and two sisters.
