'We did it!' thumbnailColeraine FC Chairman Colin McKendry from Bushmills and team manager Oran Kearney, teacher at Cross and Passion College celebrate Coleraine’s 3-0 win over Cliftonville on Saturday.

THE Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council says Coleraine Football Club have showcased the region to the entire world following their victory in Saturday's Tennent's Irish Cup final.
The Bannsiders defeated Cliftonville 3-1 in front of 12,000 fans at the National Stadium at Windsor Park in Belfast to lift the trophy for the first time since 2003.
The win comes just a week after Oran Kearney's team agonisingly missed out on the league title to rivals Crusaders and is his first success as the club's manager.
Sending her congratulations to the manager and his team, Cllr Joan Baird claimed she was 'proud and delighted' at their victory and promised to host a reception for the club in the near future.
“The success of the team is a success for the whole borough and not only have they put Coleraine on the map, they have showcased the whole Causeway Coast and Glens," said the mayor.
“I look forward to hosting a reception for them when I can meet and congratulate them all in person."
Meanwhile, Coleraine FC chairman Colin McKendry, pictured above with manager Oran Kearney, has thanked the community for its support.
Around 6,000 fans made the trip to Belfast with many more watching the match at home on TV and listening on the radio.
“It's only starting to sink in now," he admitted on Monday.
“The support we enjoyed on Saturday was phenomenal and it was clear to see what the victory meant to so many people.
“I am confident that as a club we can build on this success and compete for trophies on a more regular basis," he added.
