Rooting for Rathmoyle thumbnailThe Rathmoyle Home Action Group have called on members of the public to back their petition to protect the facility from imminent loss.

A GROUP named the 'Rathmoyle Home Action Group' are calling upon members of the public to lend their weight to a petition launched in recent days which, if successful, would halt the "imminent loss" of Rathmoyle facility. The group, headed by co-ordinator Eleanor Duff, are demanding the building near the seafront be retained and developed as a new type of affordable accommodation for older people in the area.
Speaking to The Chronicle, Eleanor explained that she and group members had only recently been informed that the supported living aspect of their funding had been unsuccessful when it came before the NI Housing Executive.
She said: "Without the funding the project planned for there just isn't viable. It would cost people 340 per week which just makes it a non-starter."
