IT IS 'wholly appropriate' that the Police Ombudsman investigate the tragic circumstances that left a Dunloy teen dead and a Ballymoney man fighting for his life, a local MLA has said. The local community remain stunned after Shannon McQuillan (19) was killed, with Owen McFerran (21) still in a critical condition; struck by a van in the early hours of Saturday morning on the Moneynick Road near Toome.
Shannon is mourned by her mum and dad Collette and Paul, siblings Paul, Charlene and Kelly, the wider family and community.
Charlene described Shannon, whose funeral takes place in St Joseph's Church, Dunloy on Wednesday as "very laid-back and easy-going,"
“She just took everything in her stride. She was bubbly and beautiful," she said, "We were all so close; none of us can believe it."
