CROSS and Passion College recently held their prizegiving evening, where principal, Mr Paul McClean welcomed guest speak Molly Goyer Gorman.
Mr McClean reflected on how fast his first year as school principal went, praising the school community for working so well together to create "a wealth of opportunities in a breadth of fields".
He said: "The awards and prizes given out range from those which celebrate academic success, achievements in sport, music and the arts. Most importantly, we are recognising and celebrating the contributions our young people make to school, to local and global life and to each other.
"The ethos in the school is very strong and our guiding principle, in everything we do, is that we are a community. Jean-Jacques Rousseau, the French Philosopher and Writer, said 'Communities seek to embody civic virtue - the willingness of individuals to sacrifice their self-interests on behalf of the common good.'
