Carol singers in Dunseverick and Ballintoy thumbnailPat Brown, Vera McCaughan and Ivan Smyth Carol singing around the parishes of Dunseverick and Ballintoy.

SIXTY years ago, members of Dunseverick Church began Carol singing around the doors, bringing music and joy to the people of the parish.
Then in 1978, members of Ballintoy Church joined them...for almost 40 years the two parishes came together for a week at Christmas time and went house to house to spread joy to residents.
Speaking to The Chronicle, Barbara Brogan, who has sang with the Carolers for over 30 years now, said it was now a real community event.
She said: "About four or five years ago some members of the Roman Catholic Church joined us and we have all been singing together since. It just gives a lovely happy start to Christmas time.
