BUSHMILLS RBL Youth Section have played a very special part in the recovery of a young Liscolman man who is making good progress following an accident last year. Pamela McLean, a leader with the Youth Section of Bushmills RBL, told The Chronicle how they ran a raffle alongside a recent bingo night and raised £250 which they donated to the Liam McCallum Recovery Fund.
Pamela explained: "The Youth Section felt they wanted to donate to a local cause and I have known Alistair his whole life.
“Alistair's niece is part of our Youth Section and he drives the bus for Bennet House, the Royal Legion's break centre.
“When we heard that young Liam's recovery would be aided better with a specialised bike, we were keen to help the family towards the amount needed for it. Liam is able to go on the bike in hospital but it would be better if he had one at home he could use more often.
