Dunseverick’s new principal says job is a dream come true! thumbnailMrs Leanne Smyth, the new principal of Dunseverick PS, pictured outside the school she has taught in for the past 11 years.

'CHOOSE a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life' - those words certainly ring true for the newly appointed principal of Dunseverick PS, Mrs Leanne Smyth...
Leanne Smyth, nee Matthews, has been a familiar face around the friendly and welcoming school since she began her teaching career there 11 years ago and to say she was delighted at being offered the principalship is a bit of an understatement.
Speaking to The Chronicle, the mother-of-two who grew up just down the road in Liscolman, said: "My prayers have been answered, my dreams actually have came true, I love Dunseverick Primary School and I can't believe I'm the principal here!"
Despite undertaking her teacher training in London, Leanne's heart was always at home and she hoped one day she'd find her dream job and begin to change little lives.
Leanne said: "I went to Straidbilly Primary School, where my little girl Jessie goes now. My mum tells how I came home in P2 and said I wanted to be a teacher! She noted it down in my memory book and here I am!"
