Roisinís charity run! thumbnailRoisin Magee ran Ballycastle Beach last Friday afternoon to raise money to send a child to Lapland.

A BALLYCASTLE schoolgirl who wanted to raise enough money to send a child to Lapland after loving every minute of her experience there last year, has pushed herself to her limit to achieve her goal! Roisin Magee, who attends St Patrick's and St Brigid's PS, faced one of her biggest challenges yet as she raced the length of Ballycastle beach on Friday for her sponsored event!
When initially planning her run with mum, Dympna, Roisin set her sights on a modest amount - but even though on Monday the final total wasn't known, the pair were hopeful she had achieved her target.
The 10-year-old, who has a mild form of cerebral palsy, idolises Paralympic gold medalist Michael McKillop and has a dream that one day she too will pick up a medal for her running.... if this race is anything to go by, this definitely isn't the last time we'll be hearing the name 'Roisin Magee'!
Roisin, who travelled to Lapland with the Northern Ireland Children to Lapland Trust (NICLT) last year, just wanted to give something back.
