Community spirit shines on thumbnailAn emotional end to a phenomenal journey for Canadian woman Maysen Forbes who took Ballycastle by storm when she arrived on Sunday, coming to the end of her 900km walk of The Ireland Way to raise awareness of mental health.

A CANADIAN woman who completed her 900km walk of The Ireland Way this weekend in Ballycastle has said she was "completely overwhelmed" by the warm welcome she has received. Maysen Forbes set out to walk The Ireland Way back on September 14, with an aim to raise awareness of mental health issues, and says she feels such a sense of achievement upon completion.
Pushing herself on the 900km Hiking Trail which covers 14 counties, from Cork to the Giant's Causeway, Maysen's plan was to camp along the way - though it seems she underestimated the generosity of the Irish!
The Chronicle caught up with the 25-year-old, who formerly served in the Israeli Army, just as she had made her way along the Causeway Coast Way leg of the route towards her final destination - Ballycastle!
