Residentís appeal after receiving anonymous letter thumbnailDespite there being no sign up prohibiting children from playing ball games, it seems one resident has taken it upon themselves to try and halt them

A RESIDENT of the ‘The Abbey’ in Ballycastle has hit out at the ‘threatening and intimidating’ letter posted to a number of houses in the development accusing children of causing ‘serious annoyance’.

The woman who rents a house in the area said the letters, which were posted second class to the homes in question, came out of the blue with no previous complaints having been received.

The letter, which was delivered last Tuesday morning, claims the writer had sought advice from the PSNI on the back of the “loud and intrusive” ball games which are “causing serious annoyance” as well as alleged damage to walls and flower beds.

However, the woman claimed she wasn’t aware of any damage that had been caused and that no sign was displayed saying ball games were prohibited.
