Full house for BLF fundraiser! thumbnailSOLAS volunteers pictured at the charity night

A BALLYCASTLE woman who lost numerous family members to a little known disease has recently held an awareness and fundraising evening in Ballycastle golf club.
Una McMillan lost her mother, her sister and her brother to Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), an interstitial lung disease which as yet has no cure.
Only months after burying her beloved sister Eileen, Una was diagnosed with the same disease - confirming a suspicion that she had all along, that there may be a genetic link to IPF.
Not one to rest on her laurels, Una pledged to be the 'voice' of the disease that would bring awareness and education to the community - and she wasn't joking!
In April, Una and her husband Tommy, as well as friends and members of their extended family embarked on a charity cycle at Lough Neagh to raise funds for the British Lung Foundation (BLF).
