A PRINCIPAL has voiced "grave concerns and fears" over the effect of the Stormont stalemate on his students' education and school's already stretched finances.
In a letter to Glens' SDLP Councillor Margaret-Anne McKillop, St Killian's College Principal Jonny Brady, said: "In the absence of any political dialogue, school budgets are being deciminated and Principals and Boards of Governors are being expected to make serious and significant decisions based on little information and a lack of political accountability.
“This year once again schools are being asked to complete the impossible task of balancing budgets in the dark and with no strategic direction provided."
He added: "At St Killian's we are facing unprecedented cuts to our budget and additional hidden demands such as the increase in employer's contribution for both teaching and non-teaching staff and the inflationary rise in the cost of heat, light and power.
