Tourist horrified with rubbish at Dark Hedges thumbnailSteps are to be taken to address the problem of litter at one of Northern Irelandís most popular tourist attractions, the Dark Hedges

A CANADIAN tourist visiting the North Coast was appalled at the level of damage and destruction tourists had left in their wake whilst visiting the Dark Hedges recently.
The now-iconic tourist attraction made internationally famous partly due to HBO television series Game of Thrones, attracts thousands of tourists every year, seeking to witness the beautiful trees.
However, disappointed with what he saw on his visit, the tourist reached out to the Chronicle and said: "I was there cycling through at Christmas when I was over here, and since then, seeing it when I walked through, I was totally shocked and saddened to see the sheer destruction and vandalism of the trees.
“I have friends from Canada who would love to visit this location, but after seeing the state of it yesterday, I am embarrassed by the lack of responsibility to protect these trees.
“The amount of litter, especially disposable coffee cups, was disgusting."
