Street Pastors pictured in Portstewart
THE Street Pastor scheme has been so successful in the Triangle area that it has been rolled out in Ballymoney.
And there are hopes that night-time patrols can eventually be extended to Limavady and Ballycastle - if enough community-spirited volunteers can be found in both towns.
Around 70 street pastors take turns to stand-by outside nightspots in Portrush and Portstewart on Saturday nights, ensuring that revellers who have become stranded from their friends get home safely.
As well as patrolling Coleraine and Portrush estates on Friday nights, pastors help out at some Saturday football matches at Coleraine Showgrounds.
