Motorists refuse to toe the yellow lines on Causeway Road thumbnailResident Nat Magee counted 22 cars parked along the double yellow lines last Monday afternoon and a record breaking 51 on Sunday August 13. Residents have raised concerns regarding the abandoning of vehicles on the roadside but place the blame squarely a

Speaking to The Chronicle , resident of the Causeway Road, Nat Magee, said he counted 51 vehicles parked along the double yellows last Sunday afternoon - mere days after the lines appeared - as well as approximately 40 further on down the road.

Nat said this was “just the tip of the ice-berg” and that the residents on the road were treated with blatant disregard by tourists who just abandon their vehicles at the roadside rather than pay an entrance fee to visit the Giant’s Causeway.

He said: “Visitors to the Giant’s Causeway just park wherever they want it seems!  They think nothing of parking on a blind bend, and as a result of that I almost found myself on a head-on collision recently. I contacted the PSNI who say they can’t enforce the parking rules as it’s not their responsibility.  They say that’s up to the NCP (National Car Park operators) but when I rang the NCP they were too busy to send any attendants out to the Causeway area.
