THE MAYOR of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is set to hold a reception to recognise the efforts of two local men after they rescued three children from the sea last week.
Jordan Donnelly and Nataniel Hunter were hailed as heroes after they waded into the water, undoubtedly saving the lives of the three children who had earlier been playing in the nearby river.
Members of the public spotted the children, a boy and two girls, who were believed to have been wearing inflatable rings, being dragged out to sea off Ballycastle beach at around 7.30pm.
Nataniel Hunter from Ballyvoy was walking along the beach with his wife when he spotted the children playing in the mouth of the river and wasted no time coming to their aid.
