Queen’s musical honour for Margaret thumbnail

A BALLYCASTLE musician who has been named in the Queen's Birthday Honours list has said she is "delighted and humbled" and revealed that everyone has been "lovely" congratulating her on her award.
Margaret Brown, who is well known around the choirs of North Antrim, will receive the British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to music in Northern Ireland.
The former music teacher has been involved in music all her life, from being a music specialist in North Antrim Primary Schools to more recently playing organ in three of the parish churches.
A modest woman, Margaret grew up with music in her life, as her mother was an excellent soloist who passed her love of music to her daughter.
