Young Armoy man killed in car crash as three others hospitalised thumbnailThe scene of the RTC on the Coolkeeran Road Armoy on Sunday evening in which local man Dylan O’Kane tragically lost his life

THE close-knit community of Armoy has been plunged into mourning after the tragic death of a young man in a road traffic collision late on Sunday night (May 7).
21-year-old Dylan O'Kane would have been a familiar face to those who lived in the small rural village and tributes posted on social media are testament to the fun-loving, happy-go-lucky young man he had been.
Dylan's grandfather, Hugh O'Kane, runs a used car dealership in the village and would be well known throughout North Antrim and further afield. On Monday, his uncle, Hugh O'Kane Junior told The Chronicle that the close-knit family were devastated but had been comforted by the support from the community.
Mr O'Kane, who also lives in Armoy, said: "We are a very close family and Dylan's death is very, very sad for everyone.
“Dylan was just a young boy, he was always running about so I didn't get to see him as often as I would like, but the family are devastated.
“People have been ringing all day expressing their sympathies and offering help and different things. Everyone has been very good. It's just a very sad time."
