THE BALLYCASTLE granny who pledged to do her bit for humanitarian aid in war torn Syria has told The Chronicle of her elation as she raised over £1,700!
Back in January The Chronicle told how feisty Margaret, who's in her 70s, had come up with a novel idea to raise funds for Refugee Rescue, a volunteer search and rescue team which was born in response to the mass displacement of people fleeing war, and families who are forced to risk their lives to get to safer land.
Margaret decided she would cover 16 miles in a loop, from Ballycastle to Ballintoy - on her trusty scooter!
