‘We’re a work in progress’ thumbnailAntrim's Ciaran Clarke was again the man in form as Antrim hurlers closed in on promotion with a fine win over Armagh at the weekend.

ANTRIM'S hurlers took a step closer to promotion at the weekend with a win over Armagh but team management spokesperson Sambo McNaughton is refusing to get carried away. The Cushendall clubman believes the players have plenty of work to do yet before they can countenance life in the higher echolons.
“I thought we were wasteful," admitted McNaughton.
“We were shooting from places we shouldn't have been shooting from so we're still a work in progress.
“We wouldn't have been happy with our performance. There's never any complacency on our part, definitely not." The Saffrons were tested by the Orchard side but the introduction of sub' Deaghlan Murphy some 15 minutes into the second half proved decisive.
The big Rossa man hit seven points to help ease his side to a seven point win and retain their unbeaten run in Division 2A.
The result puts them top of the pile, one point ahead of Carlow and two in front of Kildare.
