Dervock’s youth - keen to make a difference! thumbnailLife in the fast lane - The Dervock Youth Association have enjoyed a go-karting day.

A GROUP of young people aged between 15 and 24 have come together to form the Dervock Youth Association (DYA), a group which hopes to develop opportunities for the younger people in the village.
The Chronicle caught up with the group, whose Chairperson is Jordan Whitfield, and heard about their aims to get their voices heard and help make Dervock a better village.
Tell me a little bit about the DYA group - how did it come about? -The group is formed by a lot of young people from Dervock, we formed the group to give opportunities to the young people of Dervock and to make the village a better place. We felt that our voice wasn't being heard and instead of sitting back complaining about it that we would start our own group and apply for our own funding instead of relying on others to have to do it for us.
