Brónagh is laid to rest

THE close-knit village of Cushendall gathered last week to pay their respects to the family of little Brónagh Kinney, a popular child who has been described as a 'little smiler'. Brónagh, a P4 pupil at Glenaan Primary School, died at the Royal Victoria Hospital last Monday morning after she was struck down with meningitis.
The loveable schoolgirl was rushed to hospital by her worried family after she had taken ill.
St Mary's Church was filled to capacity with family and friends, as they mourned the little girl who "was loved by all who knew her."
Parish Priest Fr Luke McWilliams recalled how Brónagh had taken up a martial art and took great delight in practising it with her older brothers. He told the congregation how Brónagh enjoyed a recent holiday in America and how she had been looking forward to making the Sacrament of First Holy Communion in the coming months.
“She was such a lovely little girl and everyone was so fond of her. She was so helpful to everyone around the school and elsewhere," he said.
