Hair cut for Cousins!
Thursday, 26 January 2017
IT CERTAINLY was a family affair in the Cut 'n' Style salon on Castle Street, Ballycastle, on Friday as a doting grandmother, a loving aunt and her friend donated 33 inches of their hair to The Little Princess Trust. Charlotte McNeill had her hair cut in support of her little grandson Conor, who was diagnosed with Leukaemia back in August 2015.
Little Conor, from Armoy, is currently undergoing treatment after starting his latest stage of chemotherapy this week. Conor turned two on January 21, the day after the charity hair cut.
Conor's aunt Nuala McErlean and family friend Erin Martin also wanted to show their support, as well as raise funds in memory of Conor's cousin, Leah Quinn.
Leah, who was a pupil at Barnish PS, passed away in the early hours of August 3 2015 after contracting Sepsis.
Conor's mum, Karen, said Leah, who was previously described as a "kind, caring wee darling" had often talked about getting her hair cut to support The Little Princess Trust.
Karen said: "Many people wanted to show their support for Conor and what he was going through, so we picked this charity in memory of Leah. Leah is never far from our thoughts, she was a fun loving, caring and kind-hearted wee girl and would be so delighted to have seen the hair being cut and knowing £1,500 had been raised for the charity."
