THE OWNERS of the Marine Hotel have refuted claims that the business they've owned for three years has been sold, saying they've had their most successful year to date.
Armoy woman Claire Hunter and business partner Colum McLornan told the Ballycastle Chronicle they're looking forward to what the coming months have in store for the town's most famous eatery and revoked the suggestion that the business has changed hands.
In fact, plans for a further make-over are well underway and 2017 will see more changes to the cornerstone of Ballycastle.
Speaking to The Chronicle, Claire said: "The past year has been a tantamount success and culminated in our serving a Christmas day dinner for 255 people, with our bedrooms also totally booked for Christmas night. It was a runaway success and we were all delighted with how popular it was.
“Major changes were made to the hotel between 2013 and 2016 and Claire and Colum have already upgraded all 31 of their bedrooms to a modern Three Star status with the addition of major new kitchen equipment, conversion to more energy efficient gas and heating system and new furniture and upholstery in Marconi's Bar and Bistro.
