Roisinís Christmas wishes are granted

A BALLYCASTLE girl's dreams have come true as the "best year ever" was finished off with a trip to Lapland to meet Father Christmas.
Little Roisin Magee's feet still hadn't touched the ground after meeting her Paralympian hero Michael McKillop, when her mum got word that a Santa Claus visit was planned!
Speaking to The Chronicle, Dympna Magee praised the NI Children to Lapland Trust (NICLT) saying their day away was "pure magic" and would be remembered by herself and Roisin for years and years to come.
Dympna said: "Roisin has had a phenomenal year. She met Michael McKillop after his Rio victory and he came to Ballycastle to train with her. For any little girl that's the stuff dreams are made of. And just when we thought it couldn't get any better we were told by the Children's Development Centre in Ballymoney that Roisin had been picked as one of the children who would be going to meet Santa in Lapland."
Nine-year-old Roisin, who has a mild form of Cerebral Palsy, attends St Patrick's and St Brigid's Primary School Ballycastle and hopes one day to follow her heroes lead and run for her country.
Dympna continued: "We had an eventful night prior to our trip to Belfast Airport as Roisin was very excited and found it difficult to sleep. She remembered me getting lost on the way to Dublin Airport when we went to welcome the Olympians home and she must've panicked. But we got to Belfast in time for the 7.30am flight and off we set!
